To put you in the picture

It’s 10pm again before I can sit down to cobble together an update, so I take the easy option of ‘a picture painting a thousand words’.

Here is the briefest of summaries of our ride from northern Spain, over the Pyrenees into France (where we will remain until 24th).

Despite the weather forecast frequently threatening to give us an uncomfortable ride, we yet again had an almost perfect day of weather. I love that early morning long shadow time with the temperature at 16c, knowing full well that this will probably be the coldest part of the day.

The reason for coming to this part of Spain was to show the Fab Four Aguero and Mallos de Riglos, two places I visited last year on my first bike trip as a born again biker. It didn’t disappoint neither them nor me, just stunning in the early morning sunshine.

Our time schedule only allowed for one Pyrenees pass, and although not the highest it still gave everybody a flavour of the beautiful mountain region.

The ‘rustic’ hotel we’re now in is owned by a Belgium family and therefore the selection of beers is from their homeland. I plumped for one of my favourites, the pink elephant logo gives a clue to the effects this Delirium beer can have, Ray and Ken will no doubt remember it fondly! 🥴
