Water Falls

What a brilliant day, if riding in rain and cold could ever be brilliant? We spent a lot of time in tunnels, about 25 in total, ranging from short stuff to generally three, four, five or six milers. The world’s longest road tunnel (Lærdal) at 15.23 miles is mainly as you would expect, fairly boring, however it is broken up with brightly lit areas every four miles or so. Rache and I had driven it in 2015, but understandably Jacob had to do it!

The rain we’d been having ensured the many waterfalls we saw were in full flow, they really are an awesome sight!

Leaving the hotel the weather was as expected!
But it had its benefits!
Not the Lærdal tunnel as that doesn’t have any roundabouts within
I only wish the Go Pro had been working as I emerged from the tunnel onto Hardanger Bridge! 😱
A must visit for both of us Latefossen

Flowery Twats

Jacob and I agreed, that before committing to the 25 mile dead end diversion to Sauda, we should at least make sure we had a bed for the night, obviously not the same one! We do get on well but always have separate rooms. Fortunately we managed to get the last two rooms in town, at the well respected Kløver Hotel. Far be it for me to think that this was a little strange, but it seemed that the receptionist, barman, waiter and chef were all the same person. And as for the last two rooms in town, well it looked like there were only four people staying in this hotel and we were half of that!

I was surprised when Jacob said “This is like Fawlty Towers”, I said “You know of Fawlty Towers”? He certainly dd, and we laughed about the similarities with this place, but he didn’t’t know of the anagrams used for each episode:

Watery Owls, Farty Tower, Flay Otters, Warty Towels, Farty Towels and surely the best Flowery Twats?! I’m amazed the BBC allowed it?!

  1. What wonderful scenery Norway has. Just amazing.

I won’t mention FT as there’s a risk of quoting whole episodes 🤣

  2. Wow Brian amazing photos – love the roundabout, what a great shot. The waterfalls look fantastic – only good thing about wet weather 😀. Do you think Jacob will complete the whole trip with you? X

  3. Still lots of water about!
It’s great that you have a travelling companion.
    Safe travels back to Denmark.
