Hi,
Reg here, I thought it was time I had my say for a change, especially as we’ve been on the road together now for three weeks and three thousand miles. Between you and me I think the old man is getting a bit long in the tooth for this blog malarkey, so as he’s having a day off I’ll get my tuppence worth in.
I heard that Bramble used to do a quality blog when she was around, so really Bri is just filling in until somebody/thing can do a proper job!
So we left the four star hotel at Huelva this morning, a weird place in which Bri seemed to be the only guest, he had a balcony over the front door so could look down on me whenever he so wished. Anyway we took the dual carriageway/motorway the 50 miles east to Seville after which he fortunately decided to take the shorter (in distance) but longer (in time) route via Ronda rather than the boring motorway via Cadiz and Gib.
Ronda makes me think of ‘Alun from the valleys’ but that’s Rhonnda, anyway I digress. Following signs for Spanish Ronda we travelled through countryside which had very little colour, it was as if everything was covered in dust, much like me really after that crazy Carlos dragged us off road! Even the greens weren’t very green, everything just seemed to lack life, probably due to lack of water, it still had a beauty about it though.
We’d been on the road for two and a half hours when the old man eventually stopped taking photographs of the scenery and anything else which caught his eye! So we turned off the main road for a coffee break at a restaurant. Two Spanish registered bikes were already there, a Kawasaki 900 and a BMW r1250 summat or other, road bike not those common adventure thingies. The owners were sitting at a table by the bikes, to whom Bri gave the nod of acknowledgement. Well bugger me, if it wasn’t Estepona Harry and Marbella Jimmy!
Bri thought they must be on rented bikes but no, they’ve been living here for years and after the three of them chewed the fat for 15 mins and Bri said we were off to Casares, to which Harry replies, “We’re going that way if you want to join us”? Needless to say we all took the twisty roads to Casares stopping at Gaucin for refreshments. Apparently we’re off on another ride together next Monday.
So now we’ve arrived in the land of sugar cube villages, apparently it’s even more stunning than the old gadgy remembers, and as we rode into town (sounding like some kind of western) two huge vultures welcomed our arrival by circling overhead.
The Big Bird has landed.
Oh, I got thinking that Bri is really a modern day Don Quixote, which means I must be Rocinante, mmmm……🤔
Eloquent as ever Reg.
😆👍🏼
Hello Reg. Nice to meet you and hear your side of this adventure. I hope Bri treated you better than yesterday and made sure you weren’t as thirsty! I’m glad you have met some new friends and will have some fun with them in a few days. I’m going to suggest a stopping off place when you are on the Costa del Sol. A village called Benalmadena Pueblo…. Not Benalmadena Costa or Mijas Pueblo. They are both busy and touristy , so avoid them. Benalmadena Pueblo is quieter and has a fabulous view over the coast from around the church. I think Bri will be able to take you into the village centre but may have to leave you to walk to the viewpoint. This village is a favourite of mine and John’s. We used to stay nearby and still have friends living nearby. It has got busier in recent years but is still nice. At least it was 3 years ago when I was last there.
Thanks for that Yvonne, I’ll give him a kick up the backside to go. We’re supposed to be having a day off tomorrow, him by the pool and me in the underground garage cooling off but hopefully after that🤗👍🏼x

Loved this blog tonight – think Reg should take over the writing ✍️ lol. 50 shades of grey and brut – wow 😜 As Yvonne says glad Reg us less thirsty today. Look forward to your next adventure.
🤔 I keep telling him that I should be doing the blog but you know what he’s like! 🙄
I asked Ebony if she’d like to comment today, but she took the huff when I said it couldn’t be in German. 🙄
